While this is being done, another technician from fire sprinkler companies will observe the activation of the value in the mechanical. Once the valve is activated the trip timing and pressures are recorded before the valve is closed.
Next, the cover plate can then be removed, and the interior of the valve inspected by commercial sprinkler companies. If the clapper and seat are in good condition and free of debris, the valve can be reset and depressurized.
