Asphalt driveways can give your home a clean and beautiful finish. Over time, however, these driveways get worn and can begin to form cracks, and they need repairing.

An essential factor to consider during asphalt crack repair is that the weather needs to be suitable. Extremely cold or hot weather isn’t conducive.

It is therefore unwise to repair the asphalt in the winter or summer. Mild temperatures work best and allow the filler to work well. Also, consider the rain. When it rains, the filling won’t stick.

Be sure to wash and clean the affected areas of the asphalt before beginning repairs. Get rid of all the debris, weeds, and other particles in the cracks. Ensure the damaged areas are dry before beginning to fill them. Determine the severity of the damage before starting the mode of repair. A filling is sufficient for shallow cracks and less severe deterioration. However, it is best to replace the asphalt when the damage is severe.
