A brief YouTube video by Matt Risinger provides an overview of a window buying guide, which examines the advantages and disadvantages of various window materials, including wood, vinyl, aluminum, and fiberglass, among others. Having worked as a whole house modeler, a custom builder, and a contractor, Matt has firsthand knowledge of architectural craftsmanship, particularly in relation to the development of long-lasting and healthy structures.

Considering window repair, Matt believes that vinyl frames are not the best option because they are not very paintable and their joints do not come out well after welding. On top of that, the vinyl type is less durable than other materials such as fiberglass.

With the market as it is today, you might be able to find a frame that is both more durable and visually appealing by combining vinyl and wood.

Furthermore, aluminum frames are both durable and excellent heat conductors due to their high conductivity. Matt, on the other hand, believes that a combination of wood and aluminum is the best option because it has a good shape, is visually appealing, and is less expensive than other options.
